PLEASE COME INTO THE CRAFT CENTRE TO SEE GAIL'S SAMPLE QUILT ON THE WALL OF THE WORSKHOP
No need to come to each class. All levels welcome
Materials not provided so please buy before you come - You will need 6 fat quarters, which 'tone' 2 of a light tone, 2 medium tone and 2 dark - can be patterned or plain or both
All classes are hand sewing, but if you have a machine at home you can use it between classes!

GAIL'S SEWING MACHINE CLASSES
By appointment only. Our shop is a bit small to have the sewing machines out all the time, but we have Gail to help you if you are stuck
If you would like to book a lesson , phone and arrange a time. Bring your machine in earlier than appointment so Gail can familiarise herself with it. £10 an hour. Learn all the basics, threading, tension, hems , button holes and more.
Do you have an old machine which needs repair? Bring it in and we will ask our engineer to pick it up, phone you with a quote and then bring it back here to be collected. |
WEAVING WITH TALITHA
SAT 4TH FEB 10.30-3.30PM £25 please feel free to bring your own yarn of your colour choice
SAT 11TH FEB 10.30-3.30PM £20 second date which you come to if you haven't finished
this is an exciting new class from Talitha Clarke, a qualified teacher, who has taught us weaving for over a year
2012 classes - we start with Kilim weaving - photo to come- please search for it on internet.
It is a miniature type of weaving , done on a round frame, using any type of yarn
You will end up with a geometric woven piece which could make a wall hanging or turned into a purse.
Talitha brings all frames already set up, just bring your choice of yarn, DK plain colours are best

IMPROVERS KNITTING CLASS WITH ISABELLE
2012 classes
We have decided to make this the year of the knitting lesson!
Everyone who can cast on and off, and do basic knit and purl stitch comfortably is welcome to this class!
Sat 14th Jan 2-4.30pm knitting flowers - learn increase/decrease & more £18
so many uses for flowers, on brooches,hats & cushions
Sat 11th Feb 2-4.30pm circular needles - join in the round and enjoy! £18
& if you are adventurous, Isabelle will teach you fairisle!
Sat 10th Mar 2-4.30pm start your cushion cover with varied techniques £18
The class will take place every 2nd Sat of every month - with the cushion cover being the basis for the next 3 classes - you can choose from learning textured stitches/ cable/ lace or colour work including the simple slip stitch colour technique - to end up with a beautiful cushion. |
ISABELLE'S FINISHING SCHOOL

Do you hate sewing up your knitting? Are you looking for a tidy looking collar/shoulder line? If you want to deal with those UFOs (unfinished objects) with confidence and get to wear them/show them off.
Every 1st Sunday of the month. If you have an unfinished garment to bring along, please bring it, if not, ask Isabelle and she will bring samples
